Join us each month to learn about disaster and emergency preparedness. Each event will focus on a different topic and provide an important introduction to help you prepare for emergencies & disasters. Miss one? Recorded presentations will be uploaded to the Emergency Preparedness Talks playlist.
In this class, Robert Wittenberg, Community Risk Manager for East Jefferson Fire Rescue, will teach about how wildfires move, and how creating a defensible space around your home can help prevent more damage.
Afterwards, Lara Gaasland-Tatro, an environmental health specialist, will teach about the health dangers of extreme heat and wildfire smoke safety and provide tip for protecting yourself and your loved ones.
These talks are part of a team effort from many local groups that help our community stay safe during emergencies. Together, we’re all working to be prepared.
