Event Details

Join us each month to learn about disaster and emergency preparedness. Each event will focus on a different topic and provide an important introduction to help you prepare for emergencies & disasters. Miss one? Recorded presentations will be uploaded to the Emergency Preparedness Talks playlist.

Start the new year with a plan! Emergency preparedness doesn’t have to feel hard or scary. In January, we'll learn how small monthly steps can help you stay safe and ready. The Department of Emergency Management (DEM) will share its Prepare in a Year guide and help you begin—or continue—your preparedness journey.

The session is led by Elena Bary, DEM’s Program Coordinator. Elena works with DEM volunteers, organizes speakers for this library series, and enjoys exploring the outdoors and local waters.

This talk is part of a team effort from many local groups that help our community stay safe during emergencies. Together, we’re all working to be prepared.
