Important Message:

We are sorry to announce that our Bookmobile was in an accident, and it looks as if it will be declared a total loss. Most importantly, the employees involved are safe and unharmed. They’ve been checked on and are being supported. 

In the coming days, we’ll begin assessing next steps for outreach services and vehicle replacement. It’s too soon to know the full timeline, but we will keep you informed as plans develop.

This is a big loss, but it’s one we will recover from together. Please join me in expressing appreciation and care for the Bookmobile team. We are so grateful that everyone is okay.

Jefferson County HomeLibrary Service is for county residents who are unable to visit the library due to age, disability, or illness. Caregivers are also eligible.

Qualifications:

This personalized service is available to residents of the unincorporated part of Jefferson County who live outside Port Townsend city limits. If you live within the Port Townsend city limits, please apply for Books on Wheels, available through Port Townsend Public Library. If you are uncertain whether you live within the city limits, fill out this form and let us check for you.

HomeLibrary patrons must meet at least one of these criteria:

  1. Homebound (Requiring special assistance with transportation, such as Para-Transit or Chore Service.) 
  2. Reside in a continuous-care facility.
  3. Temporarily bedridden, or recuperating from surgery or illness. (Eligibility is reassessed every three months.)
