Important Message:

We are sorry to announce that our Bookmobile was in an accident, and it looks as if it will be declared a total loss. Most importantly, the employees involved are safe and unharmed. They’ve been checked on and are being supported.

In the coming days, we’ll begin assessing next steps for outreach services and vehicle replacement. It’s too soon to know the full timeline, but we will keep you informed as plans develop.

This is a big loss, but it’s one we will recover from together. Please join me in expressing appreciation and care for the Bookmobile team. We are so grateful that everyone is okay.

Event Details

Join AAUW for a Key City Public Theater online performance of May’s Vote, a play about the fight to win the vote for women in Washington in 1910. This streamed performance will happen on November 20 @ 7PM https://keycitypublictheatre.org/special-event-listing/maysvote/, followed by a live commentary and Q & A the next day at the AAUW Port Townsend meeting at 10 AM https://pt-wa.aauw.net/2019/10/06/womenvote_2020calendarjeffco/. The play features the lives of two very different Washington State women who built upon our state's legacy and fought gallantly for the right of women to vote in the United States. Emma Smith DeVoe and May Arkwright Hutton, two fascinating women, helped win the fight and the right despite their vastly different views on how to succeed.
