Event Details

The James Webb Space Telescope is scheduled for launch in 2021. It will have 100 times the sensitivity of the Hubble Space Telescope, and allow astronomers to investigate distant objects in the universe. Astronomer Dr. Eliot Malumuth will discuss the three Cryo-Vacuum tests used on the space instruments of the Webb Space Telescope, and his part in preparing for and executing these tests as part of the Optics team at Goddard Space Flight Center.
