Every year, the Caldecott Medal is awarded by the American Library Association to the most distinguished picture book for children. Kids ages 6 through 11 are invited to examine a selection of Caldecott contenders and vote in a Jefferson County Library Caldecott competition.

Join author and illustrator Faith Pray and Youth Services Librarian Martha Ashenfelter as we evaluate, vote for, and celebrate outstanding books of 2016.

Local artist, writer and reader Faith Pray has studied picture book writing and illustrating through UC San Diego and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Faith is also mother and homeschool teacher to four children, and has facilitated numerous children’s Caldecott elections. Faith can be found online through Sacred Dirt blog at www.faithpray.blogspot.com.
