DESCRIPTION:Come learn how to get started with harvesting vegetables all m
 onths of the year. Timing your plantings and choosing seasonal varieties t
 hat will flourish are key to winter gardening; we&#039;ll focus on tips fo
 r weather spikes-and-dips and ways to make space for those winter and earl
 y spring crops. Nita will share ideas and resources to get you started an
 d keep you on track. July is “second spring” in Jefferson County and t
 he time to sow several crops that you could be harvesting this coming wint
 er and into early spring 2027. Biography  Nita Wester was born into an 
 organic gardening family and continues to eat vegetables she’s grown in 
 her home garden.  After retiring from teaching in local K-12 schools, she
  became part of the teaching team for Jefferson County’s WSU Extension M
 aster Gardener Growing Groceries class. For 12 years now, she has enjoyed 
 trying out gardening techniques in her own winter garden, learning about g
 rowing food year around and exchanging success and failure stories with ot
