Trailblazing Photojournalist: Margaret Bourke-White
2011 - 2012 Inquiring Mind Lecture Series
Early in the 20th century, photographer Margaret Bourke-White pioneered new techniques in photojournalism and opened the door for women in photography. Her groundbreaking work covered the early factories and steel mills, the impact of the Depression on American social history and powerful images of World War II which were brought directly into the living rooms of American homes. Presented by Lynne Iglitzin, a recognized specialist in Women’s Studies and Political Science, this program is co-sponsored by Humanities Washington.
