About the Wireless Network

Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) is a wireless technology similar to what cellular telephones use to communicate. Wireless-enabled computers, laptops, and other portable devices use radio frequencies to send and receive data indoors and out; anywhere within the range of a wireless signal.

Jefferson County Library has added a Wireless Local Area Network to the main library facility in Port Hadlock. Residents can bring their own laptops or other portable wireless devices into the library to browse the Internet, search the CLAN library catalog, and gain access to the library's licensed online reference databases.

Please note this service is offered as a courtesy to patrons who have their own equipment. Because of the vast array of wireless cards and devices on the market, library staff are not able to provide technical support about your specific card configuration or hardware. The library cannot guarantee that your equipment will work with the library's network.
