Summer Reading Program 2008

Plant a Seed -- READ! Jefferson County Library Invites Kids to "Plant a Seed - READ"!

The 2008 Summer Reading Program at Jefferson County Library invites kids to "Plant a Seed - READ". The program features reading, prizes, events and surprises for the entire family, and runs through Friday, August 15, 2008.

The Summer Reading Program kick-off was held June 23rd. Children helped plant a "sunflower house" that will grow throughout the summer and become a place to sit and read surrounded by sunflowers.

Additional special events will be held throughout the summer. Highlights include a Book-It Repertory Theatre production of The Stinky Cheese Man and the True Story of the Three Little Pigs, a musical puppet show of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, a visit from a beekeeper and from the Northwest Raptor Center. The summer will culminate with a family game night, including bingo, cards and the interactive gaming system Wii.
